Let’s make a deal. I’m learning something new – I’m sharing it with you. Hope you’re curious and open-minded!
What is Soundscraper?
Soundscraper is a collection of thoughts, bits, short stories, and essays about the city, its sounds, and its dwellers. I primarily write about my current home area of Metro Vancouver, BC, Canada, located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples.
Why is it important?
As the digital space took over physical in 2020, many of us started feeling more detached from their home communities. The purpose of this blog is to go back to the “roots”, to look around, and to reconnect with the spaces around us. No matter where you live, I hope Soudscraper will inspire you to think and care more about your home, your neighbourhood, your city, your region.
Who am I?
Nat (she/her), your typical millennial. I identify myself as an event planner, however, at the moment my main role is a Graduate Student in Urban Geography. I read and write about cities A LOT. When I don’t, I explore the city by bike or on foot. Which in its turn means that the city occupies my mind all the time, and this inevitably leads to the creation of the Soundscraper’s content.
